I Left Nigeria when I was 15yrs old and returned 10yrs later, had a few change in my pocket but didn’t want to be idle when I saw there was no job in sight.
Thought about how to make money and fashion was the only thing I had an inkling for.
Although I didn’t know the ropes in Naija, so my eldest sister called her friend in Aba to help me. I was terrified of Aba, even my cousin who was to go with me was equally not happy about it because of the road, hassle and unhealthy state of the market.
I was scared of being kidnapped so we went with an escort to Aba market, imagine the sight lol.
This picture says alot, I still look at it and smile.
When I look back at that day I laugh. So back to this picture, it was 2017 Christmas eve and clients clothes were not ready and I had to sleep on the floor in Aba waiting for the tailor to finish because going to sleep in the hotel wasn’t an option because he’d run away, we were about 5 designers waiting for that same tailor and everyone slept on that floor by taking turns.
I knew I had to work hard to get my own place instead of sleeping on the floor of Aba waiting on my tailors.
Today that dream has been actualized. we’ve launched the best and biggest fashion house in Port Harcourt..
